Lots of pink!

For a dear friend of my families I wanted to do something special for her birthday, so I painted her both of her little girls names for their bedrooms. I loved painting these, I just wanted to keep painting and painting. Nothing is more fun than pink and flowers!!

Annivsary Gift

I first noticed this quote at my aunts house, I just loved it. So I choose to paint it for my sister and her husband. It hangs in their bedroom right above their bed. I wanted to find some old keys to hang with it, but was unsuccessful... maybe next time.

I just couldn't wait

This was a painting I had been looking forward to painting for months before I heard the big news. My sister and her husband had their first baby, Cord. I had the opportunity to paint Jeremiah 29:11 for Cord's room.
here is the sweet Cord, oh so sweet!

Christmas Love

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

This painting was for my brother and his sweet wife, Lynn for Christmas. I wanted to paint something that reminded me of them. There love is beautiful and together they radiate so much love. I could not think of a better way to put what I feel from their love on a canvas, than through this bible verse.

Here is the fruit of their love....

I'd live in a garden of flowers if I could

Since that isn't possible I'll just paint them!

One of my favorite artists is Kim Parker, her art inspired the paintings below. I love the bright colors and vibrant array of flowers, each with their own character!

Pear Love

well, I just love painting pears!

These are hanging in my kitchen:
and these are over the stove in my sisters kitchen:
I also love avocados...and coffee...

First time for lettering

I was asked to paint a few verses for my brother in laws, brother and his family-- sounds like a but of a stretch! I am so thankful for them, they are a beautiful family and I am so glad my sister married in to this family!
 This was such a fun learning experience for me... and difficult. It was one of the first times I did a large amount of lettering which meant I had to learn how to do it the right way... lots of taping, measuring, counting, double checking! I am happy with the way they turned out. Jeremiah 29:11 was painting for their living room.

 Colossians 1:9-10 and Ephesians 3:14-20 were for their girls rooms.

Favorite Things

A few Christmas' ago I wanted to do something special for my dear aunt and uncle. After living with them for a summer I knew them well and decided to paint their favorite things. Coffee for my uncle, Starbucks coffee is in that mug!  Cooking spoons for her love of cooking for my aunt, she's an amazing cook, got a lesson one year for Christmas...best gift ever, I'm still making the asaigo stuffed red potatoes and craving the cream brulee. She studied with Julia Child!

Where I create

I just love my little spot! antique desk my mother repainted... beautiful!

everyday it changes just a little bit

every little thing has meaning... maybe not the candles
The framed picture of the girl, is a print from skirt magazine. I love this painting. The artist is Nancy Poes, she says, "This painting is about spiritual freedom with the backpack lying open on the ground; she is unencumbered by restraints, playing her own music."

Keri Sellers '07 Also a cut out from Skirt.
"Everyday holds the possibility of a miracle" -Elizabeth David

I like to paint on the floor, say prayers for my carpet...

It's no secret...

Ever since I was little I have had a crayon in my hand until I discovered the world of art outside of crayola. First I began painting, then I adopted crafting in anyway possible. I try to put as much creativity into my life as possible. I wanted to keep up with my adventures in creating and crafting as well as the people and places that motive me and at the same time share it with those I love...so I have created a blog!
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.
Psalms 13-18
